Champaign County Auditor Referendum

The citizens of Champaign County are faced, on April 5th, with the following question:  Shall the elected Office of the Champaign County Auditor be eliminated, effective December 1, 2012, and the duties of said office transferred to an appointed officer?

There are several strong reasons that the citizens of Champaign County should prefer to retain the power to choose their auditor and not cede that power to others.

I urge the people of Champaign County to Vote “NO” on the Auditor Referendum and then do their homework, raise their level of expectations and elect a qualified Auditor in 2012.
