Thank you to the staff at the Illini Radio Group for bringing this to my attention!

As the ranks of America's World War II Veterans continue to shrink at the rate of 1,000 per day, so does our chance to honor these heroes, these members of "The Greatest Generation."

Central Illinois Honor Flight offers free flights for Veterans to the World War II Memorial erected to commemorate the sacrifices of these brave individuals in Washington, D.C.   In our first year, Central Illinois Honor Flight flew 296 World War II Veterans from the Central Illinois area to see their memorial.

Encourage our Veterans - If you are a WWII veteran or know someone who is, please fill out the Veteran Application available by clicking here, or by clicking the VETERANS link on the left menu.

Volunteer your Time - Central Illinois Honor Flight is run by people that give freely of their time to do what they can to show their respect and appreciation for America's veterans.  Help is always needed with administrative support, marketing and outreach, fundraising, and trip support.  If you can volunteer your time, please call 217-254-2986.

Become a Guardian - Guardians shepherd our American veterans on the trip to Washington D.C., and are responsible for their safety, comfort and enjoyment.  If you would like to be a guardian and help those who have helped so many, please fill out the Guardian Application available by clicking here, or by clicking the GUARDIANS link on the left menu.

Make a Donation - Our funding comes primarily from individuals across the country that recognize the great accomplishments and sacrifices of veterans and want them to see their memorial before it's too late.  Please consider making a donation today.  You CAN make a difference!

Central Illinois Honor Flight isn't the only chapter in Illinois, there are more, as well as all across the nation.  In order to figure out which Illinois chapter may apply to you - click here to see the map!
